Aliya Mohammed joined the Mewn Cymru team in June 2005 as Engagement Officer and became Development Team Manager in December 2005. She is now the Project Co-ordinator the MEWN Cymru Mentro Allan Changing Lifestyles Project.
She has a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature. She also speaks and writes Urdu, French, Punjabi and Arabic having studied these languages from the age of 9. Aliya has previously worked as a journalist, graphic designer, web designer and an editor.
The Changing Lifestyles project aims to increase activity levels amongst the element of the Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) population of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan who take no exercise. The target group will be BME women and Men. The project will develop and support programmes that increase opportunities for individuals and groups to access health enhancing physical activity in the outdoor environment.
